Euro
Der Euro ist seit 1. 1. 1999, 0.00 Uhr die offizielle Währung von elf EU-Mitgliedstaaten. Seit diesem Tag gilt auch ein fester Kurs für die Umrechnung des Euro in die nationalen Währungen. Auf Euro lautende Banknoten und Münzen werden erst ab dem 1. Januar 2002 ausgegeben. Bereits jetzt kann der Euro von Verbrauchern, Einzelhändlern, Unternehmen und Verwaltungen im bargeldlosen Zahlungsverkehr verwendet werden.
